Steve McFeely, Managing Director – Maintenance & MRO Solutions, presenting at Predictive Aircraft Maintenance Conference in London, UK.

2023 was an exciting year for the Boeing Tech Ops team. We had multiple opportunities to reconnect with customers at various events in person. It was great to see our friends at airlines face-to-face again as we shared the latest news and updates from the Tech Ops portfolio.

Below are some highlights from this past year that we wanted to share as key moments for Airplane Health Management (AHM), Maintenance Performance Toolbox, and LSAP Solutions. We plan to take the momentum from 2023 and keep pushing forward with more exciting events and news in 2024.

Tech Ops Users Conferences

2023 saw our return to in-person Tech Ops Users Conferences. After a long delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our teams were able to set up two Tech Ops Users Conferences in 2023. We were happy to have representatives from 88 airlines join us for events in Seattle, WA and London, UK.

These conferences were designed specifically for daily users of Airplane Health Management and Maintenance Performance Toolbox. At both events, our teams were able to connect with customers face-to-face to share product development updates, roadmaps, and the latest training for users. Our teams hosted customer round tables to get important feedback from customers at airlines of all sizes about how they use each of these products and potential updates that they would like to see in future developments.

Each event also hosted customer keynote sessions, where airline representatives from Alaska Airlines, AeroMexico, and United Airlines each shared from the main stage exactly how they use Toolbox and AHM. It’s a great chance for collaboration between Boeing and our customers to share and learn how we can all partner together.

In 2024, the Boeing Tech Ops team will be hosting at least one more Users Conference in Hong Kong from March 19-21. This event is for current AHM and Toolbox customers. If you are a current customer and would like to attend, please reach out to Jesse Wilson, Product Marketing Manager.

Tech Ops at CONNECT Barcelona

Near the end of summer, representatives for Toolbox, AHM, and LSAP Solutions were able to showcase their products for airlines at Boeing’s annual CONNECT event in Barcelona. During the event, those product managers hosted individual breakout sessions with customers, sharing the latest product details and brief demos. They also hosted a couple of “Tech Talks” where airlines could share what they saw were coming industry trends and challenges.

This was an exciting event where our team could “connect” with airline leaders to share the ways the Boeing Tech Ops supports their operations. It provided opportunities to discover and discuss areas that we can partner together to make aviation maintenance more innovative, efficient, and cost-effective.

Speaking at Aerospace Tech Week

Outside of Boeing’s own hosted events, Boeing Tech Ops Portfolio leaders were invited to speak as presenters at Aerospace Tech Week events in Munich and Atlanta. During these industry events, our portfolio leaders were honored to share their insights and expertise within the following topics of where they think aviation Tech Ops currently is, and where it’s headed in the future.

  • Integrating Machine-Learning and Predictive Maintenance into Daily Operations.
  • How MRO IT can truly go paperless?
  • How aircraft data relates to PII and GDPR?
  • Usage and trends in aviation data and Cyber security

It’s always exciting to meet others with a passion for aviation tech ops, and our team was happy to participate in lively discussions with group panels about the current state and future of technology within this space.
