Maintenance & Engineering Consulting Services

MSG-3 MPD and
Task Card Revision Service

Improved maintenance safety, efficiency and regulatory compliance through a streamlined, reliable, and cost effective maintenance program

Boeing Maintenance Program Engineering Services (MPES) offers exclusive access to the 737-300/400/500 Maintenance Steering Group-3 (MSG-3) program in the form of the MSG-3 Maintenance Planning Data manual (MPD) and associated MSG-3 Task Card manual. MSG-3 represents the industry standard in Maintenance Programs methodology and is often required by both regulators and MROs for scheduled maintenance activities. Maintenance programs developed with MSG-3 guidance are more effective and efficient than the outdated MSG-2 program. Using a top down, task oriented systems analysis, MSG-3 significantly reduces the labor-hour requirements by eliminating redundant tasks and costs associated with hard time component removal/replacement. Through efficient packaging of maintenance tasks, MSG-3 offers increased safety, reliability and airplane availability.

Features

  • Integrated component maintenance program
  • Elimination of redundant and unnecessary tasks
  • Integrated Corrosion Prevention and Control Program (CPCP) with Structures and Zonal inspections

Reduced labor hour costs

  • Eliminates cost of hard time component removal/replacement
  • 737 Classic total task cards reduced from 1,657 to 994 (Depending on configuration)
  • Operators save between 10% - 35% in maintenance costs

Regulatory/MRO compliance

  • Some regulatory agencies have mandated the new MSG-3 programs for legacy airplanes
  • Some MRO’s require up to date MSG-3 maintenance documents in order to conduct scheduled maintenance activities

Revision service

  • 1, 3, or 5 years
  • Follows fleetwide document revision service schedule

Configured Task Cards

  • MSG-3 Task Card document configured to customer’s fleet

Frequently asked questions

Does Boeing offer aircraft specific (customized) Task Cards?

add

If desired, operators can choose to have their MSG-3 Task Cards configured to their fleet. For an additional fee, Boeing will develop a configured MSG-3 Task Card manual containing only those tasks/procedures which are applicable to, and effective for, the customer’s aircraft.

Is CPCP included? What do I do with my old CPCP program?

add

The MSG-3 program contains integrated Corrosion Prevention and Control (CPCP) with Structures and Zonal inspections, thus removing the need for a supplementary CPCP program. Operators transitioning to MSG-3 may therefore retire their previous CPCP program in exchange for the integrated CPCP requirements governed under MSG-3.

Can Boeing assist in transferring aircraft from MSG-2 to MSG-3?

add

Yes. Boeing offers a transition/bridging service which providing a task-by-task cross reference between the operator’s current program and the newer MSG-3 program.

Are the MSG-3 MPD and Task Cards maintained to the latest MSG/ISC standard?

add

Yes. Boeing Engineering maintains the MSG-3 deliverables to the latest MSG/ISC standard and are updated on a yearly basis to reflect activities resulting from the Industry Steering Committee (ISC).
