Boeing is unveiling its innovative Parts Planning Hub at MRO Americas, introducing a data-driven collaboration tool aimed at enhancing supply chain management and improving part availability for airlines and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) organizations.
“In this challenging environment, we know that airlines and MROs are looking for solutions which enrich their planning and purchasing activities. We also know that part availability is key to supporting successful operations,” said Mini Desai, vice president, Commercial Spares & Managed Programs, Boeing Global Services.
The Parts Planning Hub optimizes the planning and ordering process, ensuring customers have the right parts at the right time. Through collaborative forecasting and two-way data sharing, Boeing can increase part availability and enhance supply chain visibility.
During a pre-launch pilot project, the Parts Planning Hub improved part availability by 7% for a Boeing commercial airplane customer. It reviewed over 19,000 part numbers, increased forecasting and bin levels for more than 3,500 part numbers, and added over 500 part numbers to inventory stocks.
