Boeing has collaborated with Ab Initio Flight Schools to introduce the CBTA Learning Library.
In a significant move to enhance pilot training, Boeing collaborated with Early Career Flight Schools to introduce the Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) Learning Library. This innovative resource is designed to support flight school instructors in teaching cadets during the most formative part of their career journey - the Ab Initio stage of training. The CBTA Learning Library aims to cultivate resilient and proficient professional pilots by providing essential tools and resources.
As Mark Nunn, a learning support manager at Boeing explained, “Our collaboration with Early Career Flight Schools is a testament to our commitment to developing the next generation of pilots. The CBTA Learning Library is designed to provide the necessary tools and resources that will empower instructors and cadets alike, ensuring a high standard of training.”
For several years, Boeing has collaborated with Atlantic Flight Training Academy (AFTA) and Leading Edge Aviation to hone the curriculum to meet flight school needs.
Mark Casey, CEO and Founder of Atlantic Flight Training Academy, emphasized the importance of standardization and consistency, saying, “One of the biggest challenges for flight schools and training pilots at all levels is to keep consistency and standardization. From the moment I saw this curriculum, I genuinely felt that this was going to be something very exciting and something that we would be very interested in implementing.”
“The introduction of the CBTA Learning Library not only enhances the learning experience for our cadets but also equips our instructors with the resources they need to effectively teach the competencies that are critical for success in aviation.”
Leading Edge Flight Academy continued to praise the partnership. “We are excited to partner with Boeing on this initiative,” said Dave Alexander, Chief Operations Office. “The CBTA framework aligns perfectly with our mission to produce skilled and competent pilots. This library will significantly improve our training methodologies and outcomes.”
