The challenge

Many airlines come to Aviation Business Solutions for assistance in mitigating costs and risk by establishing internal log file processes. They often lack in-house aircraft log file analysis capabilities or technology and are unable to meet regulations (AC119-1).

Our approach

Boeing's IT and Cybersecurity practice works with airlines to bring business benefits and cost-avoidance strategies to the forefront of their business operations. With our log monitoring services, our experts supplement a lack of analysis correlation algorithms and historical data for comparisons. We use an automated process via a Boeing-hosted solution to ingest monthly log files from an airline, including aircraft security log files and associated ground tools (UMDs). In addition, our team analyzes log files. They compare them to established airplane baselines and prepares reports to: identify spikes and anomalies, identify customer-specific threshold adjustments, and recommend areas that require additional investigation.

With our proven processes, we help our customers:

  • Mitigate the risk of missing critical threats
  • Ensure regulatory compliance
  • Benchmark against global fleet data
  • Enable future functionality for off-board communications (Class 2 EFB)
