Insight Accelerator 2.0: Added Functionality
Our predictive maintenance solution Boeing Flight Data Analytics – Insight Accelerator (IA) was launched in September 2022, and this quarter we released a product update that introduces significant new features and support for IA customers.
IA enables airlines to quickly and accurately identify indicators of part degradation or malfunction, take proactive measures, and turn unplanned maintenance events into scheduled ones – ultimately reducing flight disruption events such as Aircraft on Ground (AOG) and avoiding the high impacts to the passengers.
With the recent solution enhancements, IA customers can now leverage:
- Minimum Equipment List (MEL) Support.
MEL dates can now be added to removal events and visualized as part of data exploration. Component part numbers can also be incorporated for even more precise algorithm setup and analysis. - Enhanced Feature Library.
The Feature Library now includes a set of features pre-calculated by the system, a convenient Favorites list, and the ability to access both from anywhere in the application. Based on customer feedback, users can now define more flexible custom features to investigate specific engineering hypotheses and quickly locate component failure signatures in their data. - Enhanced Alerting Options.
The options for configuring Anomaly Detection Algorithms have expanded to include alerting based on observations over a rolling window of flights, making it easier to adapt alerts to dynamic aircraft behaviour. - User Interface (UI) Improvements.
A redesigned user interface is introduced to simplify workflows between the Exploration and Detection modules for more efficient analyses and intuitive navigation.
Self-Service Analytics Introduces Export Data
Self-Service Analytics (SSA), the cloud-based solution for aircraft and fleet performance analysis and benchmarking, now includes a new feature that supports data export.
SSA users can download the underlying calculated, aggregated data from any visualization in SSA except for slicers. This feature will include only the data to which each airline has access and summarized benchmarking data for ISDP program participants.
This new capability is enabled for visualizations throughout the solution, in both built-in and custom dashboards. Data can be downloaded in CSV or XLSX formats for incorporation into existing Excel spreadsheet tools or other applications within the operating environment.
For more information about this feature, or to learn how your airline can leverage SSA for self-directed data analysis and performance benchmarking, please contact your Electronic Access Focal or Boeing Field Service Representative.
FOQA/FDM Feature Updates
The Flight Operations Quality Assurance/Flight Data Management (FOQA/FDM) solution provides customers with a platform to proactively gain insights into fleet operations, improve efficiency, and mitigate risks. The solution leverages advanced analysis of QAR/CPL information and contextual data sources, including airport and runway information, weather (METAR), flight plans, maintenance and crew information, and more.
Recently, the FOQA/FDM team introduced new features, user interface enhancements, and customer fixes to the solution. Highlights include:
- A redesigned Flight Event List now available in beta phase:
- The ability to save searches in the new enhanced flight list
- The ability to visualize high-frequency (>1Hz) parameter values
- The ability to deselect all parameters in the Parameter Analysis graph (see image below) to make it easier to select and display only desired parameters during analysis.
In addition, we are releasing Dashboard Editor to FOQA/FDM customers, with a new graph type, a gauge widget to include in dashboards, and enhanced options in Box Plot graphs. Further UI/UX improvements have been made in response to user requests, including Last Updated/Refreshed-On information added to the Dashboard interface, and the ability to resize and move widget descriptions for ease of viewing. Improved filtering options now include case sensitive search and a “contains/does not contain” option for better filtering of data.
