Boeing and Malaysia Airlines announced at MRO Asia-Pacific in Singapore a five-year renewal of their Integrated Materials Management (IMM) services agreement, extending a partnership that supports the airline’s maintenance operations and materials planning.
The agreement helps Malaysia Airlines manage selected parts and materials used in daily operations and includes local consignment support to improve access to needed materials and help the airline respond more efficiently to maintenance requirements.
Under the IMM model, Boeing helps manage selected inventory and materials support for the airline, with the goal of making parts easier to access when they are needed. The approach improves efficiency in the supply chain process while giving the airline more flexibility in planning maintenance activity.
Aida Salfaraz Ahmad Fadzil, Chief Operating Officer of Malaysia Airlines, commented, "Boeing’s IMM services play an important role in supporting our fleet operations. Consistent access to parts and materials helps us maintain operational reliability and efficiency while supporting our commitment to safety and service delivery.”
“Boeing’s IMM program helps airlines improve materials readiness by ensuring the right part is available at the right place at the right time,” said William Ampofo, senior vice president, Parts & Distribution and Supply Chain, Boeing Global Services. “The result is a more efficient operation and stronger support for fleet performance.”
